Thomas Joseph Curley, 91, of Pittston, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on September 4, 1934, in Pittston, PA, he was one of seven children born to the late Sarah Frances (Murray) and James Michael Curley. He was reunited in eternal rest with his wife, Ann Teresa (Kutzer) Curley, who passed away on January 19, 2024, after 58 years of marriage.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings: an infant brother, John; James; Mary Lou Dowd; Joseph; and Harry. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Leo Dowd; Dr. Arthur O’Leary; Joan (Connors) Curley; Thomas and Mary “Blondie” (Berkant) Kutzer; Margaret (Kutzer) and Andrew Galida; and Mary (Kutzer) and Jerome “Kal” Kalafut; and by nephews Kevin Curley, Jamie Curley, and Tommy Kutzer.
Left to mourn his loss and pray for his soul are his sister, Catherine (Curley) O’Leary; his sister-in-law, Mary (Dwyer) Curley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom was a graduate of Pittston High School and King’s College. A proud veteran, he served with honor in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. His military service instilled in him a lifelong sense of discipline and loyalty, though those who knew him best also knew him for his sharp-witted sense of humor.
He later moved to Hammonton, New Jersey, where he taught history and served as a senior administrator at Hammonton High School and enjoyed a successful 32-year career. Upon retirement, Tom and Ann moved to Blakeslee, PA, to be closer to family and the mountains they loved.
An avid outdoorsman, Tom found joy in hunting, fishing, and cross-country skiing. He took great pride in sharing his passions with family and friends, whom he valued above all else. Tom was a kind, steady, and generous presence—loved by all who knew him—and his wisdom, stories, and wit will be dearly missed.
Tom was a man of deep faith and a devout parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Pocono Pines, formerly Our Lady of the Lake. He was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
A Mass of Christian Burial, with Full Military Honors, will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston, PA. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the church prior to the mass.
Interment will in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tom’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home LLC, Pittston.
Tom Curley was a favorite fellow parishoner I was fortunate to know and frequently meet at church, going all the way back to "Our Lady of The Lake" in Pocono Pines, where he was always first in line to take care of anyone who needed help. May he rest in eternal peace with Ann.

To the family of Tom,
Our sincere condolences on the loss of Tom. We have known Tom (and Anne) for many, many years from our time in Blakeslee. What a wonderful and kind man. Tom was always smiling and entertaining and a genuine pleasure to spend time with. He certainly left this world with arms overflowing from the many good deeds he gifted all .
We will miss him. May he enjoy the gift of heaven with Our Lord and Anne and those that have gone before him.
