Virginia “Vincie” Butera, 84, of Pittston, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Diega Buscarino Butera. Vincie was a graduate of Pittston High School. She worked for many years in the local garment industry.

Vincie was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She supported her nieces and nephews at all their events, especially their sports. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Phillies and the Eagles and in her earlier years she was a talented bowler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; brothers, Joseph and Mario Butera, sisters, Tina Maruca, Mary Butera, Sally Butera, Josephine Barbini, and Rosalie Petonak, and nephew, Sal Butera.
Surviving, her sister, Dorothy Satkowski and her husband Steve, brother-in-law, John Barbini, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 10AM, in Our Lady of the Eucharist, 535 N. Main St., Pittston.
Interment will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Exeter.
Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC – Pittston.
