Walter Albert Chesniak, 82, of Pittston Township, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Dupont on July 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Frank and Josephine Klimek Chesniak.
Walter attended Dupont schools and had worked in the local garment industry and for Leslie Faye.
Walter loved spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed fishing with his fishing buddy; grandson Richie whom he referred to as “little devil”. Walter taught his son, Rich to hunt and fish and passed down his love for the outdoors to him. He spent most of his time with his daughter, Sue, who was and always will be his little girl. When he wasn’t patrolling Walmart with his partner in crime – brother Butch, he would be seen hanging out at his second home with
his best friend Kenny and buddy Tommy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Joseph, John and Frank Chesniak and sister Cecilia Moleski.
Surviving are his brother Stanley “Butchie” Chesniak and his wife Joe-Ann Chesniak; son, Richard Chesniak and his wife Christine; daughter Susan Kolankiewicz (Koehler) and husband Bryan; grandchildren, Cristen Kolankiewicz; Amber Chesniak; Casey Kolankiewicz (Sedlak); Matthew Chesniak and his wife Brittany; Eddie Kolankiewicz; and Richie Chesniak and girlfriend Devon; great-grandchildren, Bella, Savannah, Anya, James Jr., Isabella and Harlee; nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.Arrangements are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston.
