Walter "Elvis" Liska, Jr., 85, of Hughestown, passed away at home, Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Born in Dupont on July 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Walter Liska, Sr. and Stella Madura Liska.
He attended Dupont schools and served in the U.S. Army. He had been employed as a roofer for Mid-Valley Roofing for many years.
What people will remember the most about Walter is that he was kind, funny, and would give you the shirt off his back. He would tell everyone about his grandchildren, Rachel and Chase. He enjoyed meeting his buddies at the Dupont VFW and Polish Club, spending time on the porch with his granddog Luna, eating pizza every Friday, and listening to Elvis. He will be missed by so many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Liska and a sister, Barbara Liska.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Janet Kutchkus Liska; son, Eric Liska (Marina), Pittston; daughter, Corrine Simon (Scott Blume), Hughestown; grandchildren, Rachel Simon (Mario Gian Adajar) and Chase Liska; sisters-in-law, Judy Legg, Dallas; Mona Aruscavage (Frank), Hughestown; and Donna Kutchkus, Hughestown; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services are entrusted to Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, Pittston.
