Wanda C. Ross, 100, of Yatesville, passed away Monday March 21, 2022 at Kingston Health Care Center, where she resided.
Born in the Hilldale section of Plains Twp. she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Tanistra) Yonski and was one of 15 siblings.
She attended Plains Schools and she along with her sisters ran Laflin Grove Catering, for many years.
Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband Benjamin Ross, Sr. and 3 sons; Benjamin, Jr., Frank, and George Ross, and son-in-law Stanley Gibblets.
She is survived by her son Joseph Ross, Yatesville and daughter Catherine Gibblets, Texas, 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and sisters; Janet Ceresi, Pittston Twp. and Marion Price, and husband Mike, Inkerman and numerous nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday March 24, 2022 at 9:30AM in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. The family will receive friends from 8AM- 9:15AM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC 251 William St., Pittston. Internment, St. Rocco’s Cemetery.
Grandma, we will miss you terribly. Thank you for all my wonderful childhood memories of being rocked in your rocking chair, eating your yummy food and taking buses to go shopping and of course dancing to the polkas! Until we meet again…
