William M. “Bill” Brady, 84 of Duryea passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday October 8, 2025 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late William A. Brady and Ann Reardon Brady. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Duryea High School and a graduate of the University of Scranton. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, he was a member of the American Legion.
Bill embarked on a career with the U.S. Postal Service starting as a mail clerk and culminating in a 20-year career as the Postmaster of Wilkes-Barre, PA. For many years he was the Postmaster representative for the NAPUS organization. In retirement he served with the Commission on Economic Opportunity Weinberg Food Bank, assisting their marketing efforts. Bill also served on the Board of the United Way and the Board of the Salvation Army.
In his earlier years he coached his sons Little League teams and was the score keeper for his son’s basketball teams from elementary school through high school, he also was the scorekeeper for many years for the Pittston Area Girls Basketball team. Bill relished in his grandchildren’s activities, his daily calls to hear about their adventures will be missed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Belunis Brady, and his brother Gerard Brady.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Linskey Brady, children; Sharon Chase (Adam) of Old Forge, Thomas Brady (Elizabeth) of Pine Valley, CA. and William Brady (Mary) of E. Fallowfield, PA; 9 grandchildren; his brothers; John Brady (Barbara) of Richboro, PA and Thomas Brady (Kathleen) of Murrells Inlet, SC and sister, Mary Ellen Sigman (Gary) of Cherry Hill NJ, sister-in-law, Johanna Brady of Basking Ridge NJ brothers-in-law; Ed Linskey of Harding and Jack Linskey (Donna) of Pittston and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Geisinger ICU for the compassionate care they provided Bill.
They family will receive friends and relatives Saturday October 11, 2025 from 11AM- 1PM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston, a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1PM, interment, St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.
