William Walter Kurtinitis, 85, of Pittston, passed away Wednesday evening, March 11, 2026, in Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.

Born in Pittston on August 17, 1940, he was the son of the late William and Florence Levendusky Kurtinitis.
He attended Pittston schools and had worked as a mason. He was a member of the Laborers Union.
He loved hunting at Dutch Mountain and the most important thing in his life was his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Marie Williams Kurtinitis; siblings, Dorothy Eaton, Eleanor Bartuska, Jean Harter, Leona Kurtinitis, Albert Kurtinitis and Bernard Kurtinitis.
Surviving are her children, Christine Gilley, (Pete Mangione), Pittston; Barbara Usavage (Michael) Duryea; and brother, Robert Kurtinitis (Rita), Dallas, grandchildren, Brittany Gilley and Giavanna Mangione; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday March 18, 2026, from 10-11AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM. Interment, St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Pittston.
