Julia Sophie Sassi, 77, of Laflin, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at home. Born in Avoca on February 15, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Mazur Potorski. She attended Avoca schools. Julia had worked in the local garment industry at Brooks Manufacturing in Old Forge and retired from Main Pants in West Pittston. She was a member of ILGW union and a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin. Julia enjoyed gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmothe
