Bridget M. Sassi

Bridget M. Sassi, 93, of Inkerman, entered into the hands of the Lord surrounded by loved ones April 18, 2022, in Wesley Village Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Pittston on November 20, 1928, Bridget was the daughter of the late Joseph Pagnani, Sr. and Alfonsina Delia Pagnani. Bridget was married to the late Gino Sassi with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.


She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Pagnani and brothers, Joseph and Samuel Pagnani.


Bridget spent her life working in the local garment industry. Bridget was the rock of the family and had great capacity for compassion but also possessed the strength to give tough love when necessary.


Bridget loved life and loved her family even

more. She took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved when the whole family would get together during the holidays or other special occasions. She enjoyed dinners out with the family but really enjoyed visiting her fountains of youth… The Casinos. More often than not, she came home a Winner! She loved when all of the kids, family or friend, called her Grammy Sassi.


Bridget is survived by her son Mark Sassi of Dallas and his companion Marge Colleran; daughter Jeanann Sassi Robbins and her husband John Robbins of Inkerman; granddaughters Shelby Tennesen and her husband Rick Tennesen, Whitney Wargo and her husband Josh Wargo, Lauren Lombardo and her wife Marissa Lombardo, and Hannah Robbins; grandson Christian Sassi; great granddaughters Keira Tennesen, Kinsley Wargo, and Reagan Wargo; great grandson Kolton Tennesen; nieces and nephews.


The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and care providers at Geisinger Wyoming Valley and Wesley Village Rehabilitation Center for care and kindness that were provided to Bridget and her family during her illness.


The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 5pm-8pm and Friday, April 22, 2022, from 10:30am-11:30am in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 12noon in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
