Elissa Warner, 71, of Mountain Top, passed away at Celtic Hospice at Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre on Monday, October 16, 2017.
Born on January 1, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Rita Castellani Gubitosa.
Elissa was a graduate of Northeast High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Misericordia University. She had worked as a teacher in the Scranton School District. She was recognized for her excellence in teaching in the prestigious Leaders of American Secondary and Elementary Education in 1971. She dedicated the rest of her life to her children and was an incredibly devoted Mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her brother, Dr. Carmen Gubitosa.
Elissa is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Warner, Mountain Top; son, Kurt Warner and his wife, Tanya, Cortland NY; daughter, Rita Warner, FL; sister, Mary Zingaretti and her husband, David, FL; aunt, Mary Zorzi, Wilkes-Barre; sister-in-law, Marge Gubitosa; and nieces and cousins.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
